About 4 months ago I was doing some research about eating for your blood type. After reading that for my blood type, (O Positive) I have been eating the wrong things. I made a conscious decision to be more mindful of my eating habits.

Be Gentle with yourself

“Healthy eating is a way of life, so it’s important to establish routines that are simple, realistically, and ultimately livable.” – Horace

Changing your eating habits is going to be like anything else you decide to change in your life, It will be a process. The process begins in your mind and involves creating a plan. Then you have to execute the plan 1 day at a time. So be gentle with yourself and do your best to stick with the plan you create.

Don’t beat yourself up if you decide to have a slice of pizza when you were supposed to have chicken breast and veggies. When this happens try to understand what the trigger was, note it, and get back to your plan as quickly as possible.

I don’t believe in diets, and jumping on fads. I believe in doing anything you choose to do in moderation. This means being mindful of, everything you put in and on your body.

I learned about 15 years ago that I am a devout carbohydrate addict. Nothing comforts me more than an ooey-gooey, piping-hot bowl of mac and cheese! I Love comfort food and pasta is a weakness for me. So I started thinking of my favorite carbs as a treat when I would reach a weight milestone. If for some reason, I’m having a bad day and I just need to feel the warmth of pasta and cheese in my belly, I use portion control and add a couple of shakes of nutritional yeast to give me a few grams of protein.
