Practical Answers, Empowered Living: Welcome to Ask Lorii

Hello, I’m Laura Cooper—a wife, mother, daughter, and big sister to several siblings. From a young age, I had a strong belief that something incredible awaited me in life. Along my journey, I’ve encountered challenges, and made mistakes, but I’ve never given up. My story is filled with love, disappointments, victories, and losses, and with each twist and turn, I’ve gained strength and knowledge.

My goal is to share my experiences and inspire other female entrepreneurs. I want to motivate and support fellow entrepreneurs by equipping them with tools to navigate the entrepreneurial path with greater ease. I’ll be there to encourage you during tough times and assist you in your entrepreneurial endeavors. By the end of our time together, you’ll have practical solutions to help start your business on the right foot or scale it for further growth.

My decision to become an entrepreneur was inspired by a family friend who successfully ran a non-profit organization and the record shop owned by my family where I worked. These experiences allowed me to learn about business operations and ask important questions. I started as a hairstylist, building and managing a clientele without the luxuries of the internet and social media. I gained an appreciation for entrepreneurs who built their businesses from scratch using traditional marketing tools like mail, flyers, and word of mouth.

Over the years, I quietly built businesses and relationships solely through word of mouth. Satisfied clients became loyal clients, and I understood the power of delivering quality service and making customers happy. My Experience became another valuable asset, so I accepted various roles throughout my career to add to my skill sets.

One of the roles I truly enjoyed was being a General Manager of Footaction stores. It allowed me to manage staff, control inventory, learn merchandising, schedule employees, conduct meetings, solve problems, and even handle employee terminations professionally. While I loved this position, I knew I wanted to utilize everything I had learned for my own empire, which I knew I would build one day.

After moving to Atlanta with little money and three children, I had to quickly find a career to support my family. Searching through classified ads, I stumbled upon the mortgage industry during the height of the Re-Fi boom. I joined a company that provided training, and for the next seven years, I established myself as a respected name in the mortgage business.

Throughout my entrepreneurial journey, I’ve always felt supported by a higher power. Just as the recession was beginning in 2006, I created Loracle Entertainment—an entertainment company to manage the music career of one of my closest friends—despite having no clue about the industry. But I learned the ropes, and made connections, and 17 years later, I now consult with artists from around the world. I absolutely love my life!

Loracle Enterprise eventually became the umbrella company for my conglomerate, which includes my coaching company, film and TV production company, entertainment company, real estate development financial, property management firm, and e-commerce ventures.

This journey isn’t for the faint of heart, and my career hasn’t been without its challenges. However, I wouldn’t change a single moment. Each experience has made me a better business owner, and I’m excited about what lies ahead. I invite you to join me for the next chapter of my journey!
